You will have to download it outside the app to stream it to a appleTV or other device.Įssentially anything modification or use of a file will require you to save it outside the app, locally or another sync app, and then put it back if you make any changes. If Backup & Sync fills thumbnails in My Computer and adds that file to the sync complete list, Backup & Sync does not sync after the next time. If you view the version history you will see only bug fixes month after month, and this bug has existed for 2 years! You also can’t stream video’s from the app like ANY other file syncing software. The fact that the inside of My Computer on Google Drive is in the same state as the folder of the PC means that synchronization is completed for Backup & Sync. The offline files are often not offline and have to be redownloaded, I have run into this numerous times and reported it to no avail. You will usually find you have to open the app to make it usable. They barely works with the files app built into iOS. They have yet to even integrate some of the great feature of iOS 12, i.e. They have only done a single feature update in a year and it was a small viewing change! Nothing exciting. They play the “security” card as a reason for all the missing features. IPads and iOS is not this company’s focus at all, nor is usability. I have been trying to use Sync for business and when I send private secure links to people to open, it’s always a hassle. This is so frustrating! The upload and sync speeds are also really dreadful and painful. Just a week following the client’s release, users started complaining about the problem, saying the application is inhibiting computers from shutting down. Also, when I add a new file to my main sync folder, it never shows up under the recent tab, I have to go digging for it under all of the folders that stay on top on the files tab. Quit the Backup and Sync client (for Drive and Photos) before shutting down your PC/laptop, or else the tool won’t let the shutdown operation succeed. ![]() It happens every time I try to upload something. Nothing has changed (no recent OS upgrades etc.) except that I imported a small folder of songs. I have rebooted, uninstalled then reinstalled iTunes (twice), and every other solution I can find online, and it still crashes. ![]() I have to hit retry and sometimes it works and sometimes it just crashes the app. iTunes keeps crashing before it completes syncing. Whenever I want to upload something from a browser, like a PDF receipt after purchasing something, and I try to upload to sync, it fails immediately. It has been very frustrating trying to use this app. ![]()
